Musica degli anni ’80 con un gruppo che ha fatto parlare moltissimo di sè sia per la sua musica che per le sue vicende extramusicali: parliamo dei Culture Club.
I Culture Club sono un gruppo musicale britannico, fautori del genere synthpop e che strizzava ben più di un occhio verso il reggae e le ballads. La ballatona “Victims” (Numero 3 nel Regno Unito), di cui vediamo il video musicale youtube, da molti è stata considerata il vero capolavoro del gruppo.
Quest’album vende oltre 4 milioni di copie negli USA ma all’interno del gruppo iniziano i primi guai: infatti, all’insaputa del pubblico e addirittura di Craig e Hay, George O’Dowd (ribattezzatosi Boy George), ha una relazione sentimentale burrascosa e sofferta con il batterista Jon Moss, e la pressione per tenere nascosta la cosa al pubblico e al resto della band inizia a far sentire il suo peso. Tutto questo, sommato anche alla tossicodipendenza di George, fa perdere al gruppo il posto che si era guadagnato in campo musicale.
