Fino al 18 gennaio sarà possibile acquistare Hold It Against Me esclusivamente su iTunes e dal 22 gennaio 2011 il nuovo singolo dell'artista straniera Britney Spears è in programmazione radiofonica su tutte le radio italiane. Hold It Against Me anticipa il nuovo album di Britney che arriverà sul mercato discografico internazionale a partire dal prossimo marzo, facendo concorrenza a Born This Way della regina delle classifiche Lady Gaga. Ecco quello che aveva scritto Britney Spears sul suo profilo Twitter: “Ho appena sentito una demo iniziale del mio nuovo singolo che è finita in Rete, se pensate che sia buona aspettate di sentire la vera…”. Inoltre, sempre su Twitter, Britney e il produttore Dr. Luke avevano svelato parte del testo.
Hold I Against Me inizia con la frase “Hey over there” e la ventiquattresima parola del testo è “song”. Nel 2011 la biondissima festeggerà i primi 12 anni di carriera che l’ha vista scalare le classifiche di mezzo mondo a suon di singoli di successo e tormentoni. In questi anni ben 5 dei suoi album hanno raggiunto la prima posizione della classifica Top 200 Albums di Billboard e 24 suoi brani sono entrati nella Top 40, sempre di Billboard.
